STOP PRESS NUMBER TWO.. !!!!!
Well another Royal has come and gone. This year Estrik Kennels entered five Bouvs on Breed Day. Draco was Best Male and Best of Breed, his father Aeros was Reserve Best Male and Runner Up Best of Breed. With our girls Poppy was Best Bitch and Puppy of Breed and Gracie was awarded second to Poppy. On General Specials Day Draco was then pulled out into the final eight in the Working Dog Group. A great acheivement for a young boy. Thanks to Paul for his great handling ( we appreciate you going above and beyond xx) and to Colm, Pauline and Tenaya for their help and support. xx
The start of 2010 has been quite interesting for Estrik Kennels. Our two new babies Estrik Flandres Poppy ( Ch Estrik Abby x Estrik Bronco) and Estrik Gina Ushiba ( Ch Estrik Ushiba x Ch Estrik Draco) started the year off well, with Gina winning a group award at her very first show and Poppy following on not long behind her. Ch Estrik Draco is consistently being awarded Best of Breed, with competition, and has a couple of In Group awards as well.
Ch Estrik Aeros is being shown in NSW and he too is being awarded In Group and In Show awards
Estrik Flemish Grace, Gracie, and her owner Pauline have taken to the show scene with great gusto and are enjoying themselves immensley. Gracie has been awarded quite a few class In Group awards.
2010 update....
The start of this year has seen some sad events, some happy events and some things happen we never thought would happen eventuate.
Sadly Ch Estrik Ody passed away at the start of the year from an aggressive tumour. Ody was definately one out of the box- a true showgirl who loved to be pretty and parade around the ring. She lived her last years in complete comfort with Heather and her family and was loved by all who met her when she was out for coffee and cake. We cannot thank you, Ody, enough for everything you gave us here at Estrik Kennels and to Heather, thank you and we are extremely grateful for all you did for her xxx
Ch Estrik Noeska passed away just one month short of her 12th birthday. We now have no-one to keep our kitten, Rex, in line so he rules the roost here at Estrik Kennels. He can regularly be found running around with the Bouvs, wet from being licked but still going back for more.
All Abby's and Ushi's babies are happily settled in their new homes around Australia and in Hawaii. We love to get updates and photos.
Estrik Edy now lives in her forever home with Sarah and Dwayne. She is their new Bouv, after the sudden death of Estrik Tamara ( Elsa). She will return to Estrik Kennels for maternal duties in a couple of years. She has settled in and has taken over the house like she has lived there all her life.
And, just recently, Ch Estrik Ushiba went to live with Karin, Noel and Fleur (Poppy and Gracie's sister). Unfortunately our planned litter with Ushi to Eros Kira vd Vanenblikhoeve (NDL) never happend as she developed fertility issues and had to have an emergency spey. No doubt she will keep Noel on his toes!!
We also expect to wecome a new Bouv to Estrik Kennels in early 2010. Stay tuned for more info and photos of Tilly
Puppy News...
Our next litter planned for 2010 will be Ch Estrik Abby to Ch Eros Kira vd Vaneblikhoeve (IMP NDL). Luckily we had the foresight to collect from Eros when he was alive. This will be very exciting and something we have planned for for about 5 years. We also have a couple of other litters planned for later in the year with two bitches that are being loved by other families around Australia . This will take a bit of organisation so stay tuned.....
All our dogs have their infomation and pictures on their "profile' page. We also have quite a bit of information on our "puppy information" page. If you would still like more information either email us or phone us.
