SHOW NEWS
Estrik Aeros, Estrik Abby and Estrik Draco have just had a full weekend of campaigning in Lancefield and Sunbury under an international panel of Judges. First was the Victorian Working Dog Club Champ Show on Sunday 2nd November, where under an American Judge, Mr G. Newton, Abby was awarded Best of Breed with five catalogued entries. The second show, Sunbury Canine Club, held on Monday 3rd November, saw the Bouvs judged by Marion Ten Cate from the Netherlands. I must say we were looking forward to this show. To have a Dutch judge who actually breeds dogs in the same group as Bouvs is worth entering under. Abby was awarded Best of Breed, with Aeros Runner Up ( again five catalogued entries). We had a very nice chat with Mev. ten Cate after the show, getting some valuable feedback on our Bouvs. The last show was on Melbourne Cup day, Tuesday 4th November. Bouvs were judged by Mrs Polk from America. She awarded Aeros Best of Breed with Abby Runner up (again five entries). Best in Group was judged by Mr McDonald from Sth Africa and Aeros was pulled out as a finalist in Group. On all three day Draco was awarded Puppy of Breed, but he went no further. In fact Mr Mewton described him as his own worst enenmy. Draco likes to chase shadows, butterflies and other things that jump out of the grass as he is running around the ring, which makes it a bit hard to judge him on the move. We are not worrying about this so much as he is only a baby, just 12 months. There is plenty of time for him to be a big boy yet.
Thank you to the Argus's family for their hospitality over the weekend, as well as to Tyson's family for coming to visit. xx
2008 and the future beyond...
This year we plan to get back into the showring again on a regular basis. Our "show beasties" for this year will be Estrik Abby and Estrik Draco. Watch their profiles for the results through the year. We have also decided to enter the Dogzonline Showdog of the Year competition this year and, although we will not show every weekend like some exhibitors, we think our Bouviers will be very competitive. Estrik Aeros has moved to Newtown, Sydney to live with Paul Kylstra and be shown there. Aeros is also the client greeter at Paul's hairdressing salon, New Do, where he is charming all those he meets. Paul is now part of the Estrik Kennels team. He, along with Aeros, are our show team in New South Wales. Paul will also be part of the decision making with the future of Estrik Bouviers. After many years of missing his dogs he has decided to get back into it all again, which we are all really happy about. And we will never find a better handler than Paul !
Draco has also moved to Sydney, for Summer Camp. He will also be going to work with Paul and will be shown a few times before he returns to Victoria in January.
Puppy News...
Zaana has had a large litter of eleven babies, five girls and four boys. We will be keeping a boy and two girls, with the rest going to companion homes. All these babies were sold before they were born. We are currently getting a "wish list" for our next litter which will more than likely be in the middle of next year.
Our planned litters , all going well, are Estrik Zaana to Ch Tosh Dusty vd Vanenblikhoeve (NDL) as well as Ch Estrik Ushiba to Ch Eros Kira vd Vaneblikhoeve (NDL). Luckily we had the foresight to collect from Eros when he was alive. All our dogs have their infomation and pictures on their "profile' page. We also have quite a bit of information on our "puppy information" page. If you would still like more information either email us or phone us.
